How to Bring the Spa to Your Bathroom

In the hustle and bustle of the holidays, self-care routines can sometimes be put on the back burner. Between hosting family and friends, cooking, traveling, and finding the perfect holiday gifts for the ones we love, the holidays can easily become overwhelming and draining. Today I’m sharing a few tips on how to create the perfect environment for you to relax, recharge, and take some well-deserved care of yourself, during the holiday season and throughout the year, right in your own bathroom!
Set the Mood
A few atmospheric tweaks to your bathroom will help create the perfect canvas for a spa-like feel. Add a few candles to your vanity and around your bathtub (a bathtub tray is great for this), and consider installing a dimmer on your bathroom lights for a soft glow.

Take advantage of a little aromatherapy by using an oil diffuser with a calming blend of essential oils to relax your mind and body. There are so many aesthetically beautiful diffusers out there; I love this one from Vitruvi!

Sound can also have amazing relaxation benefits. A smart speaker will allow you to control your music hands-free, so you can leave your phone out of the equation and be fully present.

Luxe Linens
Another way to elevate your bathroom to spa level is by curating your collection of linens. Fluffy towels, a soft bathrobe, and a cozy pair of slippers will be a luxurious touch after a long bath or shower. Add in a towel warmer for an extra upgrade!

Keep it Tidy
If your bathroom is messy or unorganized, it’ll be difficult to truly relax. Keep things clean and fresh by following my posts on vanity and linen closet organization. Towels can also be stored rolled in a basket for easy access!

Organize your spa-night supplies by using glass or acrylic jars to store things like bath salts or bath bombs in an aesthetic way. Add in some greenery or fresh flowers, and your bathroom will be your own little retreat from the world!

I hope these tips inspire you to practice self-care this holiday season and after. Remember to slow down and let yourself recharge in the midst of the business! You’ll be so glad you did.
